Fashion, after a fashion!

Since my last blog was such a serious one I have decided to add a bit of glamour this time.

Now in explanation of the title, me and fashion aren't two things that really go together, let’s just say I have a rustic style. However so long as I am behind the camera it is something that I really enjoy. I don't often get the chance to do this kind of work and while the shoot was not exactly Vouge, it was great to turn all my efforts to create something beautiful.

The shoot was with Tess Daly modelling a red dress made entirely from Dylon Colour Catchers. The dress was stunning but it became apparent right from the off that the dress would be a subject every bit difficult as any human. Once Tess was in the dress a slight twist of the hips was all the movement that it would allow. So with a heavily restricted but beautiful model and a house that was an interior designer’s dream/photographers nightmare we set about getting the shots we needed. I stripped away all the decor distracting from the dress and picked out the locations that would give us maximum impact.

I lit everything with a soft flattering light and set up against the strong light flooding in from outside. Simple set up but it let the dress really stand out and framed the shot perfectly. Sometime keeping it simple can be the most difficult thing.

Below is my favourite picture form the shoot and a selection picked out by the Express along with a video of me at work. Enjoy and I will leave it to you to judge how I did.
